Useful information

This pleasant educational trail follows the ancient water circuit, ingeniously organised to ensure that not a drop is ever wasted. It begins in the heart of the village, near the large main fountain dating from the XIXᵉ century, a gathering place and communal focal point.

Along the way, you'll see how water was collected at the Saint-André fountain, then used successively to supply the wash-house, where the village women came to wash their clothes, and finally to drive the mill wheel. This system is a perfect illustration of the traditional art of water management in Corsican villages.

As you continue your walk, the path takes you through historic olive groves, bearing witness to the major role played by olive-growing in the local economy for centuries.

Sainte-Lucie-de-Tallano olive oil is particularly renowned for its exceptional quality. It is traditionally produced from ripe olives, carefully sorted after harvesting. In the past, these olives were taken to the mill known as «U Fragnu», an old oil mill transformed into an eco-museum, allowing visitors to discover all the stages of production - from the millstones to the paddle wheel once powered by the stream.

Every year in the village, olive growing is celebrated at «A Festa di l'Oliu Novu», the festival of new olive oil, which brings together producers and visitors to taste local traditions and know-how.
