Perched on its promontory overlooking the sea, the Genoese tower of Fautea is one of the must-see sites on the eastern coast. Built in the 16th century to watch over the coastline and defend the territory, today it dominates a remarkable panorama of beaches, crystal-clear waters and the coast stretching south to the Pointe de Pinareddu. A path accessible from the road leads to this site steeped in history, as well as to an old lime kiln and the beach, in the heart of an unspoilt natural environment. Although the inside of the tower is not open to the public, the site offers a unique blend of heritage and spectacular scenery. The traces still visible are a reminder of the guardians who once lived in this sentinel facing the sea.
The tower is currently being restored, but it is not possible to get close to it at the moment.
