The I STANTARI and RINAGHJU alignments are megalithic monuments made up of standing stones, menhirs and granite statue-menhirs, evidence of human occupation of the site from the Neolithic period onwards. Some of these armed menhir statues are typical of primitive island art and have contributed to the site's reputation.
You can also see the DOLMEN DE FUNTANACCIA, the best preserved in Corsica.
We recommend that you combine this visit with one to the Sartène departmental prehistory museum, which exhibits a wealth of artefacts from archaeological digs in the region.
Corsica currently boasts more than 900 menhirs, mainly in southern Corsica and more particularly in the Sartène region.
