These signposted walking routes offer you an authentic immersion in the forests, mountains and rural heritage. Explore the soul of the region on foot, step by step.
Serra di Scopamena heritage trail
Discover the village of Serra di Scopamena and its chestnut grove. Here you'll find the famous chestnut dryer, "u siccatoghju", and a superb example of a water mill, "u fragnu".

Start of the trail
At the signpost for the Sentier du Patrimoine, "Chjassu di a Memoria" in Corsica, in Serra di Scopamena, follow the iron arrows, and take the cobbled descent to the left when you come to the signpost.

Serra di Scopamena water mill
On the Serra di Scopamena Heritage Trail, stands U Fragnu, the water mill fed by an aqueduct, proudly restored and equipped with interpretive panels. Throughout the year, it hosts exhibitions and guided heritage tours. A fine example of vernacular architecture.

Climb the steps and continue along the main street until you reach the next junction.
A Strada di Rinucciu interpretation trail
This trail takes you to the Cucciurpula site, whose summit dominates the entire Alta Rocca region, offering a magnificent panorama. Many heritage features that reflect the life of the area are still present: charcoal kilns, threshing floors and many other surprises await you along the way.

Saint Nicolas Church
The Chiesa district, which was the village until the 13th century, is home to San Niculao church. It offers a vast panorama of the Rizzanese valley. The church, restored in 1931, has a square bell tower with battlements and a façade honouring Saint Francis of Assisi with wrought-iron scenes from his life. It also has a marble font in the shape of a chalice dating from 1677, a white marble statue of Saint Anthony and six stained glass windows depicting St Nicolas, a Virgin and Child, St Peter, St Joseph, St James and St Anthony.
